Infant-Parent Class.

“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” - Maria Montessori

We will have a play group on Saturday mornings from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Elevate Infant classroom. This will be a time to come together and allow the children to play in an environment set up for them to explore, problem solve, and socialize. We will have an opportunity to observe the children in a place that is wholly set up for their success. We will end the play group with a snack and a song.

On Thursday evenings, from 5 to 6 p.m., we will have an in-depth discussion over what we observed with our children. We will take these observations from the play group and our own homes to discuss observation, sleep, nutrition, positive discipline, child development, and preparing the home.

Maria Montessori, who developed an educational approach in Italy more than a century ago, encouraged adults to observe children scientifically in order to understand and meet needs. The more observation, the better our understanding of children, and the less we worry.

We will learn how to slow down and find joy in our role as guide for the youngest member of our family. This class is the one that I was looking for when I was pregnant with our first child - one that includes practical information to building respect and trust within your family. These skills help you understand your child’s needs in the present moment, and for years to come.

There is not currently a class scheduled, but if you are interested, please reach out. Please inquire with any questions or if you would like to join our infant-parent class. We would be glad to have you!
